Great days out in Hertfordshire this Easter 2017

I don’t know about you, but when school is out, my children expect a full itinerary of activities and days out over the holidays. Whilst I cannot afford to do things every single day, I always like to have a few ideas up my sleeve should the weather be good or I need to leave the house before I go insane!

I thought I would share with you 5 days out and events which are happening in Hertfordshire and the surrounding area over the Easter holidays.

1. Easter Medieval Jousting at Knebworth Park

We have visited this event before and it really is one not to be missed! Also within the vast grounds there is a dinosaur trail, a “fort” adventure playground amongst other things and plenty of space for running around. Pack a picnic, tell some friends or family to come along and make a day of it.

The jousting event is included with the price of the standard entry fees to the park.

2. Easter Adventure Quest At Wrest Park

Just outside Hertfordshire, over in Bedfordshire is the beautiful English Heritage site of Wrest Park. With its stunning gardens, be certain to bring along your camera to this one! There is also a children’s play area on site, along with a cafe if you are feeling peckish. There is a chocolate reward at the end of the quest for the kids, too.

3. Aldenham Country Park

This place is a firm favorite with my children, there is always plenty to do, pony rides, walking around Winnie the Pooh’s 100 Aker Wood, a playground, a farm, and if you are feeling really adventurous, you can pitch a tent and camp there too! (booking required)

4. Easter Event at Paradise Wildlife Park

We love visiting this zoo. There is plenty to do and see any time of the year, but pay a visit over Easter and there are plenty of #fabzoolus activities to keep the children entertained. Usual admission prices apply for entry.

5. Langleybury Children’s Farm

On Saturday 15th April, this lovely children’s farm is holding an Easter Open Day event to raise money for their charity. There will be an Easter egg hunt for the children, plus a bbq and a bar!

If you are in and around Hertfordshire over the holidays, I would really recommend paying a visit to these places. The holidays are looming, but we can get through this!

Is there any day out or event that you would recommend which is happening over the holidays in Hertfordshire and the surrounding area? Let me know!
